DMTA 5-Day Divorce Mediation Training
Divorce Mediation Training Associates 5-Day Divorce Mediation Training will be held on September 26-27, and October 3-5, 2019, at Homewood Suites in Needham (200 1st Ave, Needham, MA 02494).
Justin Kelsey and Ellen Waldorf will be demonstrating their individual styles as mediators. They will provide you with a variety of mediation techniques to respond to the vast range of clients and situations you encounter as a mediator. The instructors will point out how you can develop your own strengths and your ability to use them most effectively.
During the five-day course, we provide opportunities for you to practice what you are learning. Classes are small in order to create a lively, interactive environment. We focus on the skills you need and you practice putting them to use so that you leave the course with a firm grasp of successful mediation techniques. During the training, the first four days begin at 8:30 am and end at or about 5:30 pm; the last day ends at 3:00 pm. There are breaks in the morning and the afternoon. For detailed information about the curriculum and daily topics, visit the Curriculum page.
This training satisfies Massachusetts Rule 8 training requirements for mediators. Since January of 2005, Massachusetts has coupled with the Uniform Rules of Dispute Resolution – known as “Rule 8”. This Rule established court-connected alternative dispute resolution, which includes mediation in the Massachusetts court system. Our Divorce Mediation Training of 40 hours exceeds the 30 hour Rule 8 minimum, and our Divorce Mediation Training covers advanced divorce mediation.
